Detailed Information
Rayan Elnayal is a London-based Sudanese-British artist and designer. Her work is highly influenced by Tayeb Salih’s novel ‘Season of Migration to the North’ and Ibrahim El Salahi’s works. Her fascination with magic realism and the concept of ‘Afrabia’ began as part of her architecture thesis project at the University of Greenwich. Elnayal’s art has appeared in various periodicals and two solo shows in Central London since graduating.
She’s curious on how magic realist tactics might help in the creation of ethnocentric futurists in Sudan, the SWANA region, and its diaspora.
