Quentin VerCetty is an OCAD University graduate, an award-winning visual storyteller, and an art instructor. His work employs speculative narratives such as Afrofuturism to address concerns of representation, immigration, decolonization, and the lack of (what he refers to as) PDAA (Public Display of African Appreciation) (ns). Quentin’s art has been seen on every continent. His passion for artivism, or the use of art as a vehicle for social change, led him to start the Black Speculative Arts Movement (BSAMCanada) in Toronto in 2016, and has since extended it across the country. He aspires to engage brains and inspire hearts via his work to help make the world a better place not just today, but for many tomorrows to come.
