Eric Robinson is a fine artist living in Maryland who uses oil and pen to create a variety of visual storytelling. He holds a B.F.A. in Communication Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University. His art explores the intersections of race, religion, and sexuality in order to express a distinct message with each piece. He is presently an apprentice to Miguel Carter-Fisher, a figurative painter located in Richmond.
He is also a classically trained professional dancer and a freelance portrait photographer in addition to his artistic endeavours. Spotlight Studio of Dance, Krash! Dance Productions, and Stavna Ballet have all given him the opportunity to dance.
Eric blends his talents in photography and editing with his creative thoughts for works of art, making him a talented photographer. The picture serves as a blueprint for how each painting will come out, and he edits them to the point where the images can stand on their own. Eric’s use of rich earth tones and powerful brushwork, along with relaxing backgrounds, allows the personalities of his subjects to shine through and become the major focus of each painting. Andrew Salgado’s work serves as a source of motivation for him. He is well known for his use of figuration, colour, and narrative.
