Di-Andre Caprice Davis, a Kingston-born experimental artist, has showcased her works in several countries, including Jamaica, Australia, Barbados, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Trinidad, and Sweden. Davis’s art focuses on exploring form and developing non-standard languages through new media’s inherent capacities. She is fascinated by abstraction, computer graphics, GIF art, glitch art, mathematics, photography, and surrealism.
Davis’s art seeks to compare and contrast how the human brain perceives, processes, and interprets visual imagery. She usually starts with abstract illustrations she has created or a photograph or video that conveys mystery or unusual beauty. Most of her digital images continue to fuel her interest in investigating different ways of using technology .
In 2017, Davis won the award for Best Experimental Film for her work Chaotic Beauty at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival. Her works have been screened at several events, including the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival, Projection Undervolt & co., REVOLUTION V25, and The digital odyssey. Additionally, she participated in various festivals such as The Harder They Come 50th-anniversary exhibition and MFON: Women Photographers of the African Diaspora presents ALTAR: Prayer, Ritual, Offering, among others
