Phenomxnal Womxn, is what motivated Alexxa Walker is a Montreal-based Canadian photographer, filmmaker, designer, and artist to start creating images through her ongoing project which serves to disrupt and diversify the representations of women of colour since women and African communities have often been pushed to the peripheries of art, photography and history as a whole. Her portraits often take a community art and collaborative approach that involves immersing herself into the worlds of the women she photographs.
Her photographs frequently incorporate elements of community art and collaboration.
