Marc Lamont Hill, born on December 17, 1978, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a distinguished American academic, author, and media personality. He serves as a professor of urban education at the City University of New York’s (CUNY) Graduate Center and holds the position of Steve Charles Professor of Media, Cities, and Solutions at Temple University. His academic work, as a cultural anthropologist and critical policy scholar, delves into complex themes such as race, education, citizenship, and state violence, both in the United States and the Middle East. Apart from his academic pursuits, Hill is also a prominent figure in the media industry.
