Also known as Netta, is an American civil rights activist and prominent figure in the Black Lives Matter movement. Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Elzie became actively involved in the movement following the 2014 Ferguson protests. Her use of social media to document and organize protests has been pivotal in the movement’s digital presence. Co-editing the Ferguson Protester newsletter and collaborating on the ‘Mapping Police Violence’ project, Elzie’s work focuses on police accountability and systemic racism.
